Când a venit luna a șaptea, copiii lui Israel erau în cetățile lor. Atunci, poporul s-a strâns ca un singur om la Ierusalim.
În luna a șaptea, în timp ce fiii lui Israel se aflau deja în cetățile lor, poporul s-a strâns, într-un gând și-un suflet, la Ierusalim.
When the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadac, cu frații săi preoții și Zorobabel, fiul lui Șealtiel, cu frații săi s-au sculat și au zidit altarul Dumnezeului lui Israel, ca să aducă pe el arderi-de-tot, după cum este scris în Legea lui Moise, omul lui Dumnezeu.
Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadak, și frații săi dintre preoți, împreună cu Zerub-Babel, fiul lui Șealtiel, și rudele sale au construit altarul Dumnezeului lui Israel, ca să aducă pe el arderile-de-tot, după cum este scris în Legea lui Moise, omul lui Dumnezeu.
Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his relatives, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

Au așezat din nou altarul pe temeliile lui, măcar că au avut să se teamă de popoarele țării, și au adus arderi-de-tot Domnului: arderile-de-tot de dimineață și de seară.
Deși le era groază de popoarele din țară, au ridicat altarul pe temeliile lui și au adus pe el arderi-de-tot Domnului, arderi-de-tot de dimineață și de seară.
In spite of their fear because of the peoples of the surrounding lands, they set the altar on its base; and they offered burnt offerings on it to Yahweh, even burnt offerings morning and evening.

Au prăznuit Sărbătoarea Corturilor, cum este scris, și au adus zi de zi arderi-de-tot, după numărul poruncit pentru fiecare zi.
Apoi au ținut Sărbătoarea Corturilor, după cum este scris, și au adus zi de zi arderi-de-tot, după numărul hotărât pentru fiecare zi.
They kept the feast of booths, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;

După aceea, au adus arderea-de-tot necurmată, arderile-de-tot pentru fiecare lună nouă și pentru toate sărbătorile închinate Domnului, afară de cele pe care le aducea fiecare, ca daruri de bunăvoie Domnului.

and afterward the continual burnt offering, the offerings of the new moons, of all the set feasts of Yahweh that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a free will offering to Yahweh.

From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh; but the foundation of Yahweh’s temple was not yet laid.

Au dat argint cioplitorilor de piatră și tâmplarilor și merinde, băuturi și untdelemn sidonienilor și tirienilor, ca să aducă pe mare până la Iafo lemne de cedru din Liban, după învoirea dată de Cirus, împăratul perșilor. Punerea temeliilor Templului
Le-au dat argint cioplitorilor în piatră și tâmplarilor, și mâncare, băutură și ulei sidonienilor și tyrienilor, ca să aducă lemn de cedru pe mare, din Liban până la Iafo, în conformitate cu permisiunea pe care le-a dat-o Cirus, împăratul Persiei.
They also gave money to the masons and to the carpenters. They also gave food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Cyrus King of Persia.

În al doilea an de la venirea lor la Casa lui Dumnezeu la Ierusalim, în luna a doua, Zorobabel, fiul lui Șealtiel, Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadac, cu ceilalți frați ai lor, preoți și leviți, și toți cei ce se întorseseră din robie la Ierusalim s-au pus pe lucru și au însărcinat pe leviții de la douăzeci de ani în sus să vegheze asupra lucrărilor Casei Domnului.
În al doilea an de la sosirea lor la Casa lui Dumnezeu, la Ierusalim, în luna a doua, Zerub-Babel, fiul lui Șealtiel, Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadak, împreună cu restul fraților lor – preoții, leviții și toți cei care s-au întors din captivitate la Ierusalim – s-au apucat de lucru și i-au desemnat pe leviții de la douăzeci de ani în sus să supravegheze lucrarea de la Casa Domnului.
Now in the second year of their coming to God’s house at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began the work and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of Yahweh’s house.

Și Iosua, cu fiii și frații săi, Cadmiel, cu fiii săi, fiii lui Iuda, fiii lui Henadad, cu fiii și frații lor leviții s-au pregătit toți, ca un om, să vegheze asupra celor ce lucrau la Casa lui Dumnezeu.
Iosua împreună cu fiii și cu frații lui, Kadmiel împreună cu fiii lui (urmași ai lui Iehuda), precum și fiii lui Henadad împreună cu fiii lor și cu frații lor, leviții, s-au unit cu toții ca să-i supravegheze pe cei ce făceau lucrarea la Casa lui Dumnezeu.
Then Jeshua stood with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together to have the oversight of the workmen in God’s house: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.

Când au pus lucrătorii temeliile Templului Domnului, au așezat pe preoți în veșminte, cu trâmbițe, și pe leviți, fiii lui Asaf, cu chimvale, ca să laude pe Domnul, după rânduiala lui David, împăratul lui Israel.
Când constructorii au pus temeliile Casei Domnului, preoții, îmbrăcați în veșmintele lor, erau pregătiți să-L laude pe Domnul cu trâmbițele, iar leviții, fiii lui Asaf, cu chimvalele, potrivit îndrumărilor lui David, regele lui Israel.
When the builders laid the foundation of Yahweh’s temple, they set the priests in their vestments with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, according to the directions of David king of Israel.

Cântau mărind și lăudând pe Domnul prin aceste cuvinte: „Căci este bun, căci îndurarea Lui pentru Israel ține în veac!” Și tot poporul scotea mari strigăte de bucurie, lăudând pe Domnul, pentru că puneau temeliile Casei Domnului.
Ei au răspuns, lăudându-L pe Domnul și mulțumindu-I: „Căci este bun, căci în veac ține îndurarea Lui față de Israel“. Și tot poporul a scos un mare strigăt de bucurie, lăudându-L pe Domnul pentru faptul că fuseseră așezate temeliile Casei Domnului.
They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Yahweh, “For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel.” All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahweh, because the foundation of Yahweh’s house had been laid.

Dar mulți din preoți și leviți, și din capii de familii mai în vârstă, care văzuseră casa dintâi, plângeau tare când se puneau sub ochii lor temeliile casei acesteia. Mulți alții își arătau bucuria prin strigăte,
Mulți dintre preoți, leviți și căpetenii de familii – bătrâni care văzuseră Casa dintâi pe temeliile ei – plângeau în hohote la vederea acestei Case, în timp ce mulți alții își înălțau glasul, strigând de bucurie.
But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ households, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,

așa încât nu se putea deosebi glasul strigătelor de bucurie de glasul plânsetelor poporului, căci poporul scotea mari strigăte, al căror sunet se auzea de departe.
Glasul celor din popor care strigau de bucurie nu se putea deosebi de glasul celor din popor care plângeau, căci poporul striga de bucurie atât de tare, încât glasul lui se auzea până departe.
so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
